    Job Title: Principal Electrical EngineerJob Description

     

    Join our dynamic team as a Principal Electrical Engineer, where you will lead complex medical device development programs, offering expert guidance in electrical design, architecture, and integration. This role is pivotal in steering electrical engineering projects through all phases of the medical product development process, ensuring compliance with stringent medical device regulations and standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead electrical engineering projects through all phases of the medical product development process.

    + Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and standards.

    + Support the Director in managing the electrical engineering team, including mentoring junior engineers and reviewing work products.

    + Provide feedback during project quoting and planning processes, and participate in business development activities.

    + Drive targeted engineering execution from concept through commercialization, ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

    + Function as the electrical engineering lead on product development programs.

    + Manage and report on metrics that measure the technical team's impact on the organization.

    + Collaborate with peers to identify and implement improvements to capabilities.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

    + 5-8 years of related experience.

    + Expertise in applications such as robotics, motion control systems, microfluidics, thermal control systems, optical detection, energy delivery, and medical device sensor technologies.

    + Experience with battery-powered devices, wearables, IoT, home healthcare devices, and wireless technologies.

    + Proficiency in electrical engineering areas such as PCB schematic and layout (Altium required), analog and digital design, and FPGA design.

    + Knowledge of simulation tools like Spice, Python, COMSOL, and Matlab.

    + Skills in rapid prototyping, test automation, and board-level BOM management.

    + Experience in design for manufacturing, assembly, and adherence to standards.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Working knowledge of embedded programming languages and tools (C/C++, Python, BitBucket).

    + Familiarity with risk management activities such as FMEAs.

    + Knowledge of FDA QSR Regulations (21 CFR 820), ISO 13485:2003, and risk management.

    + Understanding of medical device, diagnostic, and EMC standards.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong business acumen and assertive decision-making abilities.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Providence, Rhode Island.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
