Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description
This is a 12-month contract-to-hire position for a Controls Technician that will transition into an engineering role. The successful candidate will work closely with controls engineers to grow into this new role. We are looking for someone with 2-3 years of industry experience, ideally currently working as a controls technician.
Responsibilities
+ Actively work with 3 phase 480-volt power, 120 VAC, and 24-volt systems.
+ Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on HVAC systems.
+ Operate both personal and company vehicles, maintaining a clean driving record.
+ Demonstrate familiarity with PLC systems, ideally Niagra, but any type is acceptable.
+ Travel to and from the Grand Rapids home base to Benton Harbor, Kalamazoo, and surrounding areas, staying overnight on rare occasions.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a service role with skills in HVAC/facility PLC systems.
+ Proficiency with 3 phase 480-volt power, 120 VAC, and 24-volt systems.
+ Clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree is a plus.
+ Certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30.
+ Experience with Johnson Controls CCT programming.
+ Familiarity with Tridium Niagra N4/JCI Metasys.
+ Certifications in JCI, Siemens, Metasys, Tridium.
Work Environment
The position's home base will be in Grand Rapids, with frequent travel to Benton Harbor and Kalamazoo locations. The candidate will return home each night, with only occasional overnight stays required. The role includes a company car, gas card, hardware, and tools; however, candidates must provide their own steel-toe boots. The position offers 10 days of paid time off and 6 holidays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
