    Position Overview

    The Accounting & Auditing Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and completing multiple client engagements while ensuring all deliverables are accurate, organized, and compliant with applicable standards. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, manages engagement teams, and provides mentorship and oversight to staff accountants.

     

    The ideal candidate is a strong generalist in accounting, auditing, and tax matters (as applicable), with a commitment to technical excellence and professional integrity. This position also includes opportunities to contribute to team development by sharing technical expertise and leading training sessions on accounting updates, audit standards, and soft skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    Engagement Management

    + Plan, supervise, and complete accounting and auditing engagements for a range of clients including for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

    + Review workpapers and ensure all deliverables meet firm standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

    + Manage engagement budgets, monitor progress, and document reasons for budget variances.

    + Prepare and review client correspondence and financial reports.

    Leadership & Team Development

    + Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants at multiple levels.

    + Provide timely, constructive feedback and ensure engagement teams stay on track.

    + Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment.

    + Participate in recruiting, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives.

    Technical Expertise

    + Demonstrate a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.

    + Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and applicable regulations.

    + Identify and address complex accounting or audit issues with sound judgment and research.

    + Apply firm technology systems efficiently and assist others with software troubleshooting.

    Client Relationship Management

    + Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong communication and professional relationships.

    + Understand clients’ business operations, challenges, and goals to provide value-added insights.

    + Support client needs during tax season, including nonprofit filings and other required reporting.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Accounting certificate acceptable).

    + 4–6 years of relevant accounting and auditing experience.

    + Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or senior-level A&A role.

    + Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.

    + Experience working with nonprofit organizations and preparing IRS Form 990 preferred.

    Skills & Abilities

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Adobe.

    + Experience with accounting software and ability to troubleshoot common technical issues.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    + High level of integrity and discretion with sensitive financial information.

    Physical & Travel Requirements

    + Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.

    + Occasional lifting of files or boxes up to 25 pounds.

    + Occasional travel (5–10% annually) may be required, depending on client needs.

    **Pay Details:** $95,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
