Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator Assistant with a lot of experience in heavy industrial settings. The role involves utilizing computers to document production completion, ensuring correct raw materials are loaded onto the line, and performing quality checks using micrometers and calipers. Additionally, the position requires packaging, verifying, bundling, and banding products, as well as properly identifying and tagging completed items.

Responsibilities

+ Utilize computers to document production completion.

+ Ensure correct raw materials are loaded onto the line.

+ Read and measure using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.

+ Perform quality checks with micrometers and calipers.

+ Package and verify products coming off the line.

+ Bundle and band products.

+ Properly identify and tag completed products.

+ Assist with machine changeovers.

+ Use sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes to load products.

Essential Skills

+ Heavy industrial experience.

+ Experience in warehousing, stocking, or manufacturing environments.

+ Proficiency in math.

+ Machine operation experience.

+ Forklift operation experience.

+ Overhead crane experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with micrometers, calipers, and banding is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a 10-hour shift role from Monday through Thursday, with some shifts extending to Friday and Saturday. The work environment is industrial, dark, and without windows, reflecting a tube mill setting. Safety gear such as metatarsals, hard hats, glasses, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves are required. Expect a dirty and greasy environment typical of industrial facilities, where collaboration towards production goals is highly valued.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gary, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $52000.00/yr.
