    Material Handler – 1st Shift

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable **Material Handler** to support our logistics and laboratory operations. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate handling, storage, and distribution of materials, including biological specimens and investigational products, in compliance with regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Manage shipping, receiving, inventory, and order fulfillment for clinical and laboratory sites.

    + Accurately pick, pack, sort, and process materials with attention to detail.

    + Receive, verify, and document biological specimens, chemical compounds, and investigational products.

    + Maintain compliance with FDA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

    + Operate in specialized environments, including ambient, refrigerated, and cryogenic conditions (down to -196°C).

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/shipping software.

    + Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.

    + Ability to identify and report deviations from standard operating procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.

    + Experience in working in a warehouse setting, shipping/receiving, data entry, and sample tracking.

    + Knowledge of Universal Precautions and laboratory safety protocols.

    + Demonstrated customer service and teamwork capabilities.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    + Exposure to cold storage environments (ambient to -196°C).

    + Regular physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

    + Flexible scheduling and occasional travel between Rockville and nearby locations.

    + One-on-one training and continuous on-the-job learning provided.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
