    Job Title: Machine Set Up and Operator

     

    Pay: $20 - $22/hr (based on experience)

     

    Shift: 1st shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday // 2nd shift: 3:30pm - Midnight

    Job Description

    Set up and operate various milling and/or turret lathe machines to produce piece parts according to print specifications. This role involves operating Bridgeport millers and/or Turret Lathes, performing tool offsets, selecting feeds and speeds, and making necessary adjustments to ensure piece parts conform to print tolerances.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate Bridgeport millers and/or Turret Lathes according to blueprints.

    + Perform tool offsets and select appropriate feeds and speeds.

    + Make necessary adjustments for piece parts to conform to print tolerance.

    + Select the proper material as indicated on shop orders.

    + Check all parts to print dimensions using inspection tools such as dial calipers, micrometers, and comparators.

    + Perform first piece part inspection and in-process inspections to ensure all parts meet print tolerance.

    + Maintain SPC Data for each piece part.

    + Move parts to the next area of operation as necessary according to part routing.

    + Assist less experienced operators with set-ups as needed.

    + Ensure a clean and safe work area at all times.

    + Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in machine operation and set up.

    + Experience with production and general machine operating.

    + Knowledge of basic shop math and blueprint reading.

    + Familiarity with inspection equipment.

    + One (1) to three (3) years of experience utilizing millers and/or lathe machines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High/Vocational school diploma or equivalent level of education.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
