Savage is looking for a Mechanic Supervisor to join our team! This will be leadership and working role, supporting team members and performing maintenance on Savage equipment and vehicles in our North Salt Lake Utah operation!
What You’ll be doing :
+ Act as “working supervisor” and help wherever needed in the mechanic shop
+ Appropriately delegate tasks based on team member skill set and operational needs
+ Ensure all employees follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures and facilitate corrective action if necessary
+ Oversee weekly maintenance schedules
+ Supervise daily maintenance activities and team members performing maintenance
+ Assist in all training of employees
+ Manage spare parts inventory and ensure that necessary amounts of inventory is in stock to reduce any delays or failures
+ Perform inspections and maintenance audits
+ Communicate with Maintenance and Operation Managers in a professional and competent manner
What You'll Need to be successful:
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ College degree a plus but not required
+ 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in an industrial/maintenance setting
+ 3+ years of experience maintaining tractors/trailers
+ Strong familiarity with DOT safety regulations for commercial vehicles
+ Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance for fleet vehicles
+ CDL A License a plus, but not required
+ Air Brake Certification is a plus
+ Experience with applying or developing safety regulations and written procedures
Physical Requirements of this role
+ Ability to work outside in the elements, if necessary
+ Ability to climb a ladder and use a safety harness
+ Ability to climb into and out of cabs
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
+ Must be able to climb, crawl, carry, and position body in such a way that will enable you to perform your required duties
