    Job Title: Mixer

    Job Description

    The Mixer position involves operating mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers. The role also requires using a sit-down forklift. Candidates will switch between operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine, and work in teams of 3-4.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate a grinding machine to scoop cauliflower into it, turning it into a finer material before mixing with other vegetables.

    + Operate bagger machines by changing and monitoring speed, temperature, smart scale weights, and vibration settings before each order, and monitor the film on the bags.

    + Read and interpret batch tickets to make dough, weigh ingredients, and add specific amounts of raw materials and starches to each batch.

    + Operate a tumbler to mix materials with specific starches, flour, and egg approximately 2-3 days a week.

    + Set up and monitor equipment on the line, including mixing machines, fillers, ovens, presses, baggers, and cartoners.

    + Monitor temperatures, speeds, durations, change out rolls, wipe down machinery, make adjustments, and clear jams.

    + Conduct visual and quality inspections.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of experience in food production and machine operation.

    + Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience.

    + Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Nice to have: Bilingual abilities.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in both normal and cold environments, with potential colder conditions in winter. The second shift runs from 2 pm to 10:30 pm. Overtime work is possible, including potential Saturdays, depending on production needs.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
