    Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of plant machinery by performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks. You will work on troubleshooting and repairing various equipment, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and performing preventative maintenance procedures.

    working 50-55 hours/week (6 days a week usually)

     

    Pay

     

    $29.65 **or** $33.74 depending on electrical knowledge

     

    Training

     

    Train on day shift: 7:00a - 3:00p

    Responsibilities

    + Remove, repair, install, and adjust mechanical and electrical parts on plant machinery.

    + Troubleshoot and repair slitters, roll formers, push pointers, annealers, process lines, cut to length machinery, compressors, motors, and pumps.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

    + Perform preventative maintenance inspections and procedures.

    + Make simple repairs to parts using drill press, lathe, and grinder.

    + Utilize PLC knowledge, including some Siemens, to troubleshoot inputs and outputs using laptops.

    + Comfortably work at heights, including operations involving overhead cranes.

    + Perform stick and MIG welding.

    + Use cutting torches and read multimeters.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong electrical ability, including knowledge of PLCs, controls, and schematics.

    + Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems.

    + Experience in performing preventive maintenance.

    + Electrical troubleshooting of PLCs using laptops.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot hydraulics.

    + Capability to troubleshoot drive systems and gearboxes.

    + Proficiency in stick and MIG welding and using cutting torches.

    + Ability to use multimeters.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with three-phase motors.

    + Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment involves working in a world-leading production facility for welded and DOM carbon steel tubing used in various applications such as automotive, appliance, and construction. You will be part of a team of mechanics with a goal to expand from 6 to 15 members. The facility operates several machines, including roll forming mills, steel slitters, annealing furnaces, and overhead cranes. There are openings on the 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm) and 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:00am). You must be willing to work 50-55 hours a week, typically across 6 days. Training will occur on the day shift (7:00am-3:00pm).

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
