• Chiller Technician

    Aerotek (Lexington, VA)


    Description

    Chiller and Controls products, ranging from 150 to 550 TONS to determine all aspects of unit performance. The successful candidate will be required to report on specific unit types – performance testing, providing accurate test reports, etc

     

    • Troubleshooting

    • Contribute to risk assessments and health and safety investigations.

    • Assist Technical Support with site visits as periodically required

    • Carry out customer end of line witness tests / assist with noise tests

    • Involvement in quality investigations and structured problem solving using tools and methodologies for problems identified by external customer complaints and internal concerns. Engaging other departments in problem solving investigations.

    • Undertaking all aspects of testing requirements, specifically:

    o Pressure Test, Evacuation and Charging

    o Refrigeration performance testing

    o Electrical component testing

    o Mechanical/ electrical installations

    o Testing design TD at required waterflows and pressure drops

    o Building test rigs and assisting with test plans

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Electrical and mechanical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

    • Computer and report writing skills essential

    • Capable of working unsupervised

    • Ability to use own initiative

    • Knowledge of Refrigeration and HVAC product testing preferred

    • Previous test experience required, additional training will be provided

    • Carel Controls knowledge vital

    • Ability to be flexible and available for overtime (can be at short notice)

    • Good communication skills

    • Completing test requirements on time – with accurate reporting data

    • Liaising with both office and shop floor personnel / departments

    • Achieving project targets on time

    • EPA608 Universal Certification

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.23 - $32.29/hr.
