**Job Title:** A-Level Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment

**Location:** Staten Island (with travel throughout New York)

**Pay Rate:** $35–$55/hour

**Job Type:** Full-Time, Permanent

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable **A-Level Diesel Mechanic** to join our equipment maintenance team. This senior-level role involves advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of diesel-powered construction equipment, trucks, and support vehicles. The position is based in Staten Island, NY with **paid travel and lodging** for assignments across New York.

Key Responsibilities

+ Perform expert-level diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

+ Lead preventive maintenance efforts on skid steers, compressors, generators, trailers, and other fleet equipment

+ Conduct and oversee DOT inspections, ensuring full compliance with safety and emissions standards

+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems

+ Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status to supervisors

+ Respond to field service calls and emergency repairs with minimal supervision

Required Skills & Qualifications

+ **5+ years** of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic

+ Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

+ Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools

+ Valid driver’s license ( **CDL preferred** )

+ ASE or OEM certifications strongly preferred

+ Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in both shop and outdoor environments

Additional Skills

+ Experience with construction equipment such as skid steers, compressors, and generators

+ Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
