    Job Title: Material Handler Forklift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Handler to join our team. This role involves operating medium-sized and heavy-duty industrial fork trucks, including narrow aisle SwingMast forklifts. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while efficiently managing and organizing materials throughout the facility.

    Responsibilities

    + Safely operate industrial fork trucks, including SwingMast forklifts, and obtain necessary certification.

    + Navigate a compact, high-volume facility efficiently while ensuring safety amidst pedestrian traffic.

    + Receive, unload, verify, and properly store all incoming materials.

    + Track materials accurately using scanners and desktop computers.

    + Identify materials and storage locations to maintain efficient and organized storage.

    + Monitor and maintain accurate steel coil tracking.

    + Supply materials and services to the production department promptly.

    + Ensure highly accurate reporting and communicate discrepancies in inventory.

    + Complete timely and accurate system transactions for material movements.

    + Report any material scrap, equipment, or property damage.

    + Maintain general housekeeping of the facility and upkeep of assigned industrial trucks.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience operating industrial fork trucks, including SwingMast forklifts.

    + Ability to track materials using RF scanners and desktop computers.

    + Experience in inventory management for a year or more.

    + Proficiency in loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with SwingMast operations is preferred.

    + Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift and lift up to 45 pounds independently.

    + Capability to work collaboratively for lifting materials exceeding 45 pounds.

    + Competence in performing light office duties, including using computers, scanners, and tablets.

    Work Environment

     

    Our facility is a compact, high-volume setting with continuous pedestrian traffic. Employees are required to wear appropriate safety gear and adhere to safety protocols. The role involves standing and walking throughout the shift, with occasional lifting and carrying of materials. We provide the necessary equipment and training to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lawrence, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $38896.00 - $42016.00/yr.

     

    Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution after your first year of employment) among others.
