    Job Title: Material Handler

    Job Description

    The role involves operating propane or electric-powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices, such as forks and clamps, to lift, stack, or move products, equipment, or materials in a warehouse or factory setting. You will be responsible for driving the truck using levers, a steering wheel, and pedals to control the lifting apparatus. The job also includes staging loads for transport, positioning lifting devices under or around loaded pallets, unloading and stacking materials, and supplying production with necessary materials. Additionally, you will be tasked with unloading and loading tractor-trailers, manually handling materials, tending to automatic shrink bells, and potentially inventorying materials. Routine vehicle inspections and recording production data may also be required.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate propane or electric-powered industrial trucks with lifting devices.

    + Control the truck's movement using levers, steering wheel, and pedals.

    + Stage loads for transport by stacking, arranging, and securing them.

    + Position forks or lifting devices under or around loads and transport them to designated areas.

    + Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.

    + Supply production with materials as needed.

    + Unload and load tractor-trailers when required.

    + Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.

    + Tend to and replenish automatic shrink bells.

    + Inventory materials as needed.

    + Weigh materials or products and record data on tags, labels, or shipping paperwork.

    + Verify accuracy of shipments against records such as manifests, invoices, or orders.

    + Enter, transcribe, record, or maintain information in written or electronic form.

    + Perform routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Prior experience operating a forklift is essential.

    + Ability to work independently with excellent attendance.

    + Capability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Manufacturing experience is preferred, along with 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

    Work Environment

     

    The facility operates 24/7 with 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule. It is a non-climate-controlled environment with approximately 170 employees. Employees must wear steel-toed footwear, and the company provides gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Safety is a top priority, and there are opportunities for overtime. Schedules are flexible, requiring availability for early mornings, nights, and weekends.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
