Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

This role involves working in cabling and kitting to support the transportation industry. The position includes performing various production operator functions, such as mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, cable assembly, configuration, kitting, testing, packaging, and material handling of products. Responsibilities include adhering to established operating procedures, reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams, and utilizing hand and power tools to assemble equipment and products.

Responsibilities

+ Perform mechanical, electrical, and cable assembly

+ Complete production processes according to established procedures

+ Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings

+ Use hand and power tools to complete assembly tasks

+ Maintain work quality and adhere to safety procedures

+ Keep work area clean and safe

+ Cross-train in other departments as needed

+ Change applicators on the cut strip crimp (CSC) machine

+ Work independently from a work order with minimal assistance

Essential Skills

+ Experience in cable assembly, wire harness assembly, electronic assembly, soldering, kitting, and harness assembly

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

+ Basic math and computer skills

+ Capability to stand for 8+ hours a day

+ Ability to lift 25 lbs

+ Proficiency in reading a tape measure

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with cable building is advantageous

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean, climate-controlled, and has a laid-back atmosphere. Employees should be comfortable working both independently and in a team. The work hours are Monday to Thursday from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of additional work on Fridays as needed. The position is currently a six-month contract with the potential for contract-to-hire, depending on workload and performance. Masks are required when within 6 feet of co-workers.

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
