    Job Title: Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled machine operator who will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of presses with up to 75-ton capacity, manual lathes, and other equipment to produce deep draw formed products to specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate press shop equipment, including specialized manual lathes, air, pedestal, and centerless grinders, belt and disc sanders, forklifts, and wood saws.

    + Setup and operate level B press shop equipment such as hydraulic presses up to 75 tons, parts washers, vibratory machines, and other cleaning equipment.

    + Operate foot shears, manual and air.

    + Setup and operate die sets and use precision measuring hand tools to verify conformance of parts to specifications.

    + Visually identify defects and build wood shipping containers.

    + Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards and perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with machine operation and mechanical troubleshooting.

    + Ability to read schematics and drawings.

    + Proficiency in using a tape measure and understanding of blueprint reading.

    + Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Candidates with previous lead or supervisor experience will be considered for higher pay rates.

    + Desire to train long-term to become a department lead with a focus on soft skills and teamwork.

    The work environment includes operating a variety of press shop equipment and machinery. Employees are expected to keep the area clean and adhere to safety protocols. The role may require lifting heavy objects and using hand tools.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, Oregon.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
