Job Title: Hardware Technician
Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Hardware Technician, where you will play a crucial role in assembling and maintaining prototype network and server racks. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and functionality of our builds.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble prototype network and server racks according to engineering specifications.
+ Perform complex cabling of network and server racks, ensuring high standards of quality and organization.
+ Support server-level prototype builds, including system integration and troubleshooting.
+ Prepare builds for customer Test Rack Inspection (TRI) and First Article Inspection (FAI), ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
+ Assist with tasks associated with TRI and FAI, including serviceability and mechanical verification.
+ Identify and communicate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and end-user serviceability challenges during the prototype build process.
+ Rework prototype builds based on customer feedback and engineering design changes.
+ Collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution of prototype builds.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety procedures and best practices at all times.
+ Document build processes, issues, and resolutions to aid in future builds and design improvements.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of network configurations and server hardware.
+ Familiarity with customer test rack inspections and FAI processes.
+ Hands-on experience with reworking prototypes based on feedback and iterative design changes.
+ Troubleshoot and rework test equipment, hardware testing, software installation.
+ Proficiency in electronics, schematics, blueprints, and Linux C++.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 3+ years of experience in a hardware technician role, preferably with experience in building and cabling server/network racks and server-level builds.
+ Strong understanding of prototype build processes, cabling techniques, and DFM principles.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering schematics, blueprints, and build instructions.
+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
+ Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
