    Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

    Job Description

    As a CNC Machine Operator, you will operate and monitor a CNC machine equipped with a robotic torch to fabricate metal based on programmed instructions. Your role involves ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the machine, logging materials, and maintaining the equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and monitor CNC machine with precision and care.

    + Log materials used and monitor the machine for optimal performance.

    + Load and unload the machine as necessary.

    + Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.

    + Assist in loading the machine and ensure all parts are available for operation.

    + Utilize overhead cranes and tape measures in the fabrication shop.

    + Enter programs into the computer and ensure the machine operates according to specifications.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in steel manufacturing and machine operation.

    + Proficiency with CNC machines, including CNC table, CNC plasma, and CNC laser.

    + Ability to operate overhead cranes, saws, and forklifts.

    + Strong understanding of blueprint reading and the use of calipers.

    + Experience with lathe and torch cutting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Confidence in learning and operating CNC machinery.

    + Experience with burn tables and quality control procedures.

    + Ability to perform inspections and setups.

    + Familiarity with press brake, shearing, cutting, and banding machinery.

    + Any experience in machine fabricating is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a fabrication shop environment on the first shift. The facility is not climate-controlled.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, Alabama.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
