Job Title: Mechanical Assembler 1st or 2nd shift
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in assembling power transmissions and their subassemblies. The role involves working from blueprints, parts lists, and assembly cards, and utilizing parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, hand and power tools. You will be responsible for shimming and final assembly of gear units, working both independently and collaboratively, as well as overseeing lower-grade assemblers.
Responsibilities
+ Learn about gearboxes and all components used in assemblies and sub-assemblies.
+ Gain knowledge of pinions, torque arms, ring gears, and other gearbox elements.
+ Safely operate an overhead crane to lift, hoist, and move gearboxes, following training by the EHS Manager.
+ Disassemble gearboxes using torque wrenches or impact guns, as required.
+ Accurately record serial numbers from each part during disassembly to ensure proper reassembly.
+ Start in the parts washing area, learning about components and removing protective wax coatings.
+ Transition to sub-assembly, heating parts in an oven for proper gear alignment.
+ Use the overhead crane to reassemble gearboxes, attaching exterior housing.
+ Read instructions for customer-specific add-ons and mount fixtures using impact wrenches.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.90 - $20.90/hr.
