Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading freight to and from vehicles and containers. Your role will also involve sorting freight according to size and destination, as well as decoding and deciphering freight codes to expedite the movement and tracing process. Additionally, you will reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests, label, weigh, and dimension freight, and record any damaged shipments or misrouted freight. Maintaining a clean and safe dock area through regular cleanup activities is also essential.
Responsibilities
+ Load and unload inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers.
+ Sort freight according to size and destination.
+ Decode and decipher freight coding for efficient movement and tracing.
+ Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests.
+ Label, weigh, and dimensionize freight.
+ Perform cleanup activities to ensure dock safety and cleanliness.
+ Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in operating a forklift.
+ Experience in material handling.
+ Inventory management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Forklift Operator certification.
+ Experience as an Equipment Operator.
+ Material counting proficiency.

Work Environment
The work environment includes multiple shift options: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday with 1st shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, 2nd shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, and 3rd shift from 10:00 pm to 8:30 am. Friday to Monday shifts are available from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. The facility is modern and maintains a high standard of cleanliness.

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, Kentucky.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $24.25/hr.
