    Responsibilities

    + Researches, develops, analyzes, designs, and tests company products using engineering and scientific principles.

    + Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.

    + Analyzes and verifies product design and performance.

    + Applies knowledge of propulsion analysis techniques and methods for vehicle propulsion system design and optimization.

    + Ability to model, analyze, test, develop, apply, and communicate propulsion analyses.

    + Propulsion analysis may include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, fire safety, aerodynamics, acoustics, particle trajectory and icing analysis.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a propulsion analysis engineer

    • Experience in applying physics and the laws of thermodynamics to advanced materials for aircraft systems.

    • Must be familiar with gas dynamics equations and principles, gas turbines engine operation, and CFD analysis.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Previously demonstrated strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and organization skills.

    • Be a self-starter and have demonstrated high levels of resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related course of study from an ABET accredited program.

    • Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 5-8 years of experience with BS degree or 4-6 years of experience with a MS degree in an engineering classification.

    Preferred:

    • Desired to have proficiency in the use of CATIA, AutoCAD and Patran/Nastran or similar CAD & FEA software.

    • Desired to have ability to determine cavity pressures using software tools such as Flo-Master or Easy5, etc.

    • Desired to have knowledge of Aerodynamics, CFD.

    • Desired to have test experience.

    • An interest in aircraft ice prevention analysis and system design.

    • An interest in thermal analysis of aircraft structures.
