Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kernersville, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, particularly in corporate tax and sales tax, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

• Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submission to relevant authorities.

• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

• Assist in financial reporting by compiling and analyzing data for internal and external use.

• Conduct routine audits to verify financial information and identify discrepancies.

• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for accounting processes.

• Provide support during tax audits, including preparing documentation and answering inquiries.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.

• Ensure all accounting practices align with legal and regulatory standards. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax preparation.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role.

• Previous experience with tax audits and compliance processes is preferred.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with accounting software and tools relevant to the role.
