    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client on a Contract basis in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. This role involves providing critical support to the accounting team by managing key financial tasks and ensuring accurate records. Candidates should excel in handling general ledger activities, processing journal entries, and assisting with month end close.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform general ledger tasks and assist with month-end closing procedures to maintain accurate financial records.

    • Process and manage approximately 20-25 journal entries weekly, including payables.

    • Collaborate with the team to provide support during payroll-related projects and initiatives.

    • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

    • Reconcile bank accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.

    • Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial data and generate reports.

    • Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed to ensure proper account balances.

    • Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks to support the department's overall efficiency.

     

    Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

     

    • Strong experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

    • Knowledge of QuickBooks and its application in accounting workflows.

    • Familiarity with general ledger activities and month-end closing procedures.

    • Ability to prepare and post adjusting journal entries accurately.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

    • Prior experience in a similar accounting role is preferred.
