Description We are looking for an experienced and driven Accounting Leader to oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations for a large, family-owned company in Petoskey, Michigan. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team while contributing to the company's financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, ensuring efficient AR/AP operations and team development.

• Oversee daily financial processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations.

• Ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial transactions and reporting.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and maintain strong internal controls.

• Collaborate with various departments, including operations and executive leadership, to align financial strategies.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for senior management to aid in decision-making.

• Assist in the development and management of budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Contribute to system optimization efforts and upgrades to improve overall accounting operations.

• Prepare for future career progression into the Corporate Controller role through leadership and strategic contributions. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in AR/AP.

• Strong knowledge of financial operations, internal controls, and compliance standards.

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams effectively.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience working in large company environments is preferred.

• High level of integrity and dedication to maintaining excellence in financial management.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
