As a Field
Service Technician within the Grid Technology Services – Substation Upgrades
business, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective performance
of high-voltage substations. Your work includes equipment monitoring,
maintenance, repair, and on-site technical support. This role requires
extensive travel, non-standard schedules, and close coordination with internal
and external stakeholders.
The
successful applicant will be on site 3 days per week, working 10-hour shifts,
and will be on call 24/7 with a 1–2-hour response time required in the event of
an emergency.
HowYou’ll Make an Impact
+ Perform and coordinate preventiveand corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on substationequipment.
+ Ensure compliance with Siemens' andcustomer safety, environmental, and quality standards on-site.
+ Accurately complete servicereports, time and expense logs, and use digital tools to document work.
+ Collaborate with customers,internal teams, and third-party contractors to execute service activitieseffectively.
+ Contribute to continuousimprovement efforts by recommending process or equipment enhancements.
+ Support project scope planning,workforce coordination, and resource allocation as needed.
What YouBring
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Experience with substationmaintenance, installation, or commissioning is preferred; training isavailable for the right candidate.
+ OSHA 30 certification andfamiliarity with construction site protocols.
+ Strong communication,problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office andability to learn digital reporting tools.
+ Willingness to travel up to 80%based on project requirements.
+ Excellent knowledge in SAP (orother software/hardware).
+ Applicants must be legallyauthorized for employment in the United States without need for current orfuture employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employeeswith current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
