    industrial smart grid applications? Here’s the right internship opportunity for

    you!

     

    Join our

    research group, Autonomous Systems and Control, located in Princeton, NJ, for a

    6 – 12 month internship, and investigate new control and optimization functions

    for smart grids. Our close contact with different business units in Siemens

    provides the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in real

    industrial applications. During this internship, you will experience the

    excitement and challenges of industrial research. An internship with Siemens

    Technology is a great opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in

    a diverse work environment.

     

    In this role,

    you will work on-site in Princeton, NJ.

    facility is recognized for providing a stimulating environment for highly

    Key

    responsibilities:

    + Contribute to industrial researchprojects on control and optimization for power systems and smart grid

    + Collaborate and exchange ideas withexperts in the fields of control and optimization

    + Implement concepts and solutions inprototypes and hardware.

     

    Basic

    Qualifications:

    + A current or recently graduated MSor PHD student pursuing a degree in Engineering or Mathematics

    + Profound knowledge of advancedautomatic control (optimal, robust, and model-predictive control) and/oroptimization concepts

    + Domain knowledge in power systems

    + Good programming knowledge inMATLAB and C++, e.g. writing reusable code

    + Proficiency in English, bothwritten and verbal.

     

    Preferred

    Qualification:

    + Practical experience in research on control andoptimization

    + Experience in advanced algorithm prototyping

    + Laboratory experience in electrical testbeds andembedded systems

    + Experience in the energy market andenergy trading

    + Flexibility and adaptability towork in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of experts

     

    May consider

    sponsorship of J-1 visa students (6-12 months), dependent upon program

    requirements.

    must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export
