    Overview

     

    The Accounting Analyst has primary responsibility for financial accounting and financial reporting specific to Panasonic Connect North America Professional Services. This includes profit and loss statement and balance sheet management with a heavy emphasis on monthly close responsibilities. This role is responsible coordinating and performing account analysis and reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include project management, control and maintenance of internal controls

    Responsibilities

    Essential Job Functions:

    Financial Data Management

    + Prepare and post journal entries (intercompany, accruals, adjusting, operating expense, true-up, etc.).

    + Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to verify and post detailed transactions to the General Ledger.

    + Balance and audit General Ledger accounts and prepare entries.

    + Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operational activities.

    + Maintain accurate account and data reconciliation including supporting sub-ledgers, journals and other financial documentation.

    + Ownership of the financial closing process each month.

    + Support cash management activities and forecasting, interface with external bank personnel as needed.

    Financial Analysis and Reporting

    + Identify and research account discrepancies.

    + Assist in budget / forecast preparation.

    + Analyze customer line of credit requests and provide input for leadership decision-making.

    + Assist in preparation of internal and external financial reporting.

    + Analyze data, business processes and systems to recommend solutions and create reports.

    + Support business planning and forecasting processes.

    + Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate accounting for transactions.

    Leadership, Management, and Continuous Improvement

    + Assist Business with day-to-day operating decisions, while supporting the Business Partners.

    + Take a professional interest in helping team achieve operational excellence; be communicative and responsive and work together to fulfill needs of internal customers.

    + Assist team in maintaining and enhancing departmental processes, systems and controls.

    + Responsible for continuous improvement and to use digital tools to automate processes.

    Controls and Compliance

    + Ensure full compliance with company policies, internal controls and best practices.

    + Conduct internal control design and operational effectiveness reviews.

    + Investigate, resolve and report any inconsistencies or improprieties.

    + Review, interpret and apply accounting policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    **Education & Experience** :

    + BS/BA in Accounting

    + 1-3 years of professional experience in accounting

    + Eligibility to sit for CPA exam and/or master’s degree in business related field preferred

    + Experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint

    + Experience with SAP, Sage Intacct or similar program preferred

    + Experience in data analysis/visualization tool preferred (PowerBI, Tableau, COGNOS, etc.)

    Competencies** **:

    + Ability to efficiently analyze data to recommend solutions and create reports for management

    + Strong financial analysis and evaluation skills

    + Strong attention to detail

    + Ability to conduct research and to develop sophisticated methods of compiling reports

    Communications** **:

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong skills to clearly communicate with all levels in the accounting department and the ability to create presentations

    + Ability to understand and coordinate cross-department functions

     

    Salary Range- $55,000-$65,000
