    Key Responsibilities:

    + Information Technology Project Leadership (50%)o Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the design and deployment of enterprise IT systems supporting the School of Medicine's FTE Initiative, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, compliance standards, and mission-based effort definitions.o Direct the development of secure, scalable data infrastructure-including centralized databases and repositories-to enable clinical benchmarking, funds flow reconciliation, and strategic opportunity analysis.o Lead cross-functional teams in the automation of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that deliver real-time insights into FTE allocations, funding sources, and productivity across distributed computing environments.o Manage the execution of multi-phase FTE projects, integrating systems development lifecycles and performance monitoring frameworks to ensure operational excellence and long-term sustainability.o Drive institutional coordination across internal departments and external partners to standardize FTE definitions and funding mechanisms, leveraging data governance and systems integration best practices to support strategic decision-making.

    The Senior Project Manager serves as a senior advisor and strategic partner to the Dean and the Office of the Dean, providing visionary leadership in the design, execution, and oversight of enterprise-level Information Technology initiatives that advance the School of Medicine's mission and long-term strategic objectives. This role demands a high degree of sophistication in IT project governance, cross-functional leadership, and institutional transformation. By bridging technology and finance, this role ensures that the School of Medicine is equipped with the tools, insights, and systems necessary to support innovation, data-driven decision-making, and long-term fiscal health. This position is responsible for driving modernization efforts across Information Technology infrastructure and financial operations, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, regulatory frameworks, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include leading the implementation of enterprise IT strategies-such as data transformation, data governance, and data integration with new and existing systems -and coordinating a significant number of internal financial models and with partner institutions that support transparency, sustainability, and strategic resource allocation. These may include responsibility with our new Anaplan Center of Excellence, multi-year forecasting, and performance-based budgeting.

     

    + Information Technology & Business Strategy Alignment (30%)o Provide strategic leadership in partnership with IT operations to ensure that enterprise infrastructure-including networking, distributed computing environments, and financial platforms-is architected for scalability, security, and alignment with institutional priorities.o Collaborate with IT leadership to modernize core technology functions such as systems development, database administration, server management, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional performance goals.o Partner in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of emerging enterprise technologies-including integrated ERP systems, cloud-based platforms (e.g., Anaplan), and advanced analytics tools-that enhance operational efficiency, financial modeling, and academic computing capabilities.o Drive the integration of academic, research, and administrative computing systems to support cross-functional data interoperability, performance benchmarking, and real-time decision support across the institution.o Partner in the governance and lifecycle management of IT service delivery models, ensuring consistent user experience, operational resilience, and alignment with the School of Medicine's mission and strategic objectives.

    + Strategic Project Leadership (10%)o Provide executive-level oversight and direction for complex, cross-functional initiatives that advance the School of Medicine's strategic priorities, with a focus on enterprise IT transformation and long-range financial planning.o Partner with senior leadership, including the Dean and executive stakeholders, to define strategic objectives, success metrics, and institutional outcomes that align with the School's mission and vision.o Oversee the governance, execution, and sustainability of high-impact projects, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term value creation.o Anticipate organizational challenges and emerging trends; develop proactive strategies and change management plans to drive innovation, mitigate risk, and ensure successful implementation.

    + Cross-Functional Engagement (10%)o Integrate structured change management methodologies into IT project lifecycles to ensure stakeholder adoption, cultural alignment, and long-term sustainability of enterprise systems.o Lead strategic communications and executive engagement efforts to articulate the vision, progress, and impact of technology initiatives across academic, clinical, and administrative domains.o Coordinate training and enablement strategies to support end-user readiness and effective utilization of new platforms, data standards, and digital workflows.o Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to manage transitions related to system upgrades, data integration, and process automation, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value.o Monitor post-implementation performance of IT solutions, identifying opportunities for optimization and informing future technology investments and governance decisions.

     

    - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three to four (3-4) days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
