Job Title: Environment Manager
Job Description
The Environment Manager is a leadership position responsible for the stability, configuration, and maintenance of all pre-production (non-prod) environments for the client’s technology and development teams. The manager ensures these environments are available for testing and validation and are properly configured and patched to prevent issues from reaching production. This role requires strong management and communication skills to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the Build Engineering Process, overseeing the creation and integration of builds.
• Experience monitoring non-prod environments and assisting with stability issues
• Experience with environment management processes
• Use Jira epics to document all low-level environment (LLE) build activities.
• Approve and manage the promotion of builds from LLE to production environments.
• Enforce the Environment Configuration Management Process to maintain consistency and prevent unauthorized changes.
• Manage the LLE scheduling and communication to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Maintain and update environment inventory dashboards for clear visibility.
Build Engineering Process
• Manage environment inventory dashboards
• Document LLE Build Activities in Jira epics
• Approve builds to LLE and promotion to production, Socialize Release Notes
• Manage and Maintain LLE Scheduling and Communications
• Enforce Environment Configuration Management Process
Scheduled Patching & Maintenance
• Environment Calendar setup, Environment Outage Communications
• Environment Patching/Maintenance – Coordination, Environment Patching - Pre tasks
• Environment Patching - Post tasks
Qualifications & Required Skills
• 5+ years of leadership and management: Proven experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Extensive experience managing environments in a Java and Linux-based ecosystem/environment.
• Proficiency in monitoring non-production environments and addressing stability issues.
• Experience with build processes and a comprehensive understanding of environment management workflows.
• Problem-solving: Ability to quickly analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
• Organizational skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Documentation: Experience documenting technical processes and procedures in detail.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
