PURPOSE:
CareFirst is hiring a Wellbeing Consultant to serve a large multi-site client in Columbia/Ellicott City (Howard County), Maryland, for a school system providing wellbeing programs to faculty and staff across headquarters, schools, and other county locations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and facilitating initiatives aligned with the clients workplace wellness strategy, with the goal of improving the health and well-being of both employees and their families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Develop Wellbeing strategy and Culture of Health goals to impact overall health.
+ Development of wellness programs and communications plan designed to improve the health and well-being of the employee population.
+ Design, develop, promote, coordinate, facilitate, and measure targeted wellness programs for client.
+ Creates engagement strategies in support of the client wellness programs.
+ Review client wellness environment and initiate improvements to impact overall health of employees and family members.
+ Develops health education content and presents to employee population (virtually and in person).
+ Work in collaboration with third party vendors to coordinate and execute programs and services that can add value as a component of the overall workplace wellness strategy.
+ Partners with internal and external key stake holders to integrate, administer & support developed programs and corporate strategies related to health & wellness.
+ Works closely with Human Resources leadership and vendor partners to evaluate the results of established programs and produces credible ROI data that can be utilized to create benchmarks, recommend best practices, effectively market products and improve results for group.
+ Ensure familiarity with integrated products, programs and services and make referrals to other health related vendors as needed.
+ Monitor and report out on metrics and scorecard outcomes.
+ Assist in managing the wellness budget to maximize participation and engagement in wellness activities.
+ Coordinates disease prevention and healthy lifestyle-related activities and/or information during and after account implementation.
+ Develop and lead wellness champion committees.
+ Interact regularly with client population and serve as ongoing liaison and subject matter expert.
+ Presents to internal and external stakeholders on program opportunities, impact, and recommendations.
+ Lead special projects and initiatives.
**QUALIFICATIONS** :
**Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
**Experience** : 3 years experience in health promotion, health education, or health-related field.
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Masters Degree
+ CHES - Certified Health Education Specialist
+ Possess a minimum of two years of experience in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of health and wellness initiatives aimed toward improving the health status of employees and retirees.
+ Have a working knowledge of current and emerging healthcare trends and health behavior/education principles and communication methods.
+ An independent means of transportation is required for local travel to client locations.
+ You must have the ability to work outside of standard business hours, with occasional early mornings, 1-2 early evenings per month and Saturday health fair events (approx. 2 times per year for typically 4- hour events)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
+ Excellent verbal and written skills, including proven experience in the development of presentations and proposals.
+ Ability to develop and present on a variety of health education topics.
+ Proven experience in delivering Health and Wellness presentations.
+ Project management skills.
+ Ability to develop wellness newsletters/flyers/publications.
+ Critical thinking and sound judgment.
+ Analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data and draw conclusions.
+ Initiative and ability to work independently and with others in a team.
+ Ability to positively interface with internal staff and external clients.
+ Ability to juggle multiple projects and timelines.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with various computer applications/software, particularly those related to the development of wellness presentations.
Salary Range: $67,896 - $134,849

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
