    Title of Position: Children’s Services Manager FLSA Status: Exempt

     

    Department: Children’s Services Transitional Housing

     

    Reports to: Director of Children’s Services

     

    Purpose of the Position

     

    The Children’s Services Manager is charged with assisting with program management, strategic program planning, efficiency, program implementation and accountability for all children’s programs. This position requires a strong background in childhood development, program management, program evaluation, community outreach, curriculum implementation, program capacity building, data collection and program budgeting management.

    Essential Functions:

    Program Management

     

    + Assist in overseeing the implementation of programming and ensure consistency across Win regarding established activities, curricula, and standards.

    + Assist in ensuring all Win child care sites complete the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECCA’s) with Win parents of all children receiving child care services.

    + Will conduct regularly scheduled engagement workshops with parents and children ages 0-17 at LaGuardia Family Residence.

    + Weekly referrals for LaGuardia Family residents to outside daycare and aftercare services.

    + Monthly STEM workshops for LaGuardia children.

    + Create and update resource guides for parents seeking daycare/after-school programming in the community.

    + Monitor the condition of equipment and furniture in program space and make recommendations for repair, removal, and replacement as needed.

    + Collect program data, document program activities for the evaluation of the programs and as required by program funders, including but not limited to the submission of service delivery reports.

    + Analyze, develop, and implement procedures and policies to ensure quality services are provided by staff.

    + Assist with organizing Camp Win trips for LaGuardia Family Residence.

    + Assist in monitoring compliance with Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) requirements.

    + Assist in ensuring that children are served healthy meals and snacks.

    + Provide staff coverage at childcare and youth sites, if needed.

     

    Administrative

     

    + Monitor incidents which occur in Children’s Services and provide corrective action if needed.

    + Ensure that appropriate procedures are established and implemented for the health and safety of the children.

    + Track attendance of LaGuardia children participating in group through the Win Impact Network.

    + Prepare documentation for audits from NYC governing bodies.

    + Input essential childcare and youth data into Win Impact Network.

    + Attend and participate in meetings, training, and case conferences, as required.

    + Assisting in ordering childcare supplies and food for classrooms.

    + Coordinate activities and transportation with outside providers on field trips for Camp Win.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Essential Functions:

    + Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in the assigned building.

    + Must be able to sit at a computer during the work day.

    Qualifications:

    + Commitment to WIN’s mission, vision, and values.

    + BA in Early Childhood Education required plus five (3) years of experience working with children of various ages.

    + Experience with at-risk homeless families a plus.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Basic computer skills required.

    + Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred.

    + Must be able to work holidays as scheduled.

    + Applying and Developing Expertise: Takes client issues to the appropriate people within the organization to obtain the most accurate information to meet customer needs. Applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems. Understands and upholds all policies and procedures described in Win Employee Handbook.

    + Collaborating: Values the full spectrum of diversity and inclusion for clients and staff.

    + Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. Listens well and actively engages others with honesty and integrity.
