Job Description:

June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Pay rate is $25/hour for undergraduate student (Rising Junior or Senior)
Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
ABA’s Internship provides students with a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference.
ABA Summer Internships are hybrid with at least 2 days a week in our DC office.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Provide support for the Business Development team.
+ Research competing conferences and gather relevant information.
+ Assist in customer service activities related to event fulfillment for conferences and digital advertisers.
+ Support marketing efforts aimed at enhancing the exhibitor/sponsor /advertiser visibility and engagement.
Required Skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
Business development knowledge: Understanding of sales processes and how to identify potential growth opportunities.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for customer service and marketing support.
Strong attention to detail is required: Accuracy in email.
Customer service orientation: Ability to interact with customers and partners professionally and effectively.
Proficiency in office software: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and possibly Smartsheet and CRM tools.
Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities.
Ability to report into ABA headquarters located in Washington, DC, at least two-times per week (relocation assistance or stipend is not included for the intern program). Internship positions are not eligible for healthcare insurance coverage.
Minimum Education Requirements
Major Field of Study: Marketing, Sales, Communications, PR preferred, or related field
Rising Junior, Senior ($25.00 an hour)
Salary Band Range:
$15.00 - $37.50 - $60.00
