    Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opening for an experienced Routine Maintenance Scheduler at its refinery located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is located in the Maintenance organization and reports to the Planning Manager.

     

    Overview

     

    This position will manage resources and priorities to produce a 7-day frozen executable schedule, a 14-day soft schedule, and a 12-week look-ahead schedule. This position would also ensure that all Routine Maintenance schedules are created and managed for all stakeholders. The hours of the position are a 4/10 schedule Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM – 4:30 PM. This role will periodically support overtime work, weekends, and turnarounds/outages, as required. Support on-call 4-6 weeks per year and support and respond to off-hour situations, as required.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Routine Maintenance:

    + Leads daily/weekly scheduling meetings with routine maintenance and operations to develop and maintain the maintenance schedule.

    + Creates a daily/weekly schedule using SAP/Prometheus.

    + Creates and tracks monthly, quarterly and yearly look ahead of schedules.

    + Maintain accurate workforce headcounts within SAP work centers and Shift Updater.

    + Review and validate all materials on-site before work is scheduled to be executed.

    + Interface with numerous MPC/contract planners to assure their plans are per MPC standards

    + Preventative Maintenance:

    + maintains PM maintenance schedule

    + Monitors PM compliance reports to track coming due PMs and prevent any from becoming overdue.

    + Monitors and maintains PM manpower leveling

    + Reporting & Performance Metrics:

    + Review KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and work with stakeholders on areas of improvement (schedule adherence, productivity, resource utilization, schedule breakers, etc.).

    + Participates in the Workflow Improvement Team

    + Auditing and Verification:

    + Check work orders for proper user status, revision code, and order basic start date in preparation for creating weekly work schedules.

    + Review preventive and corrective work orders to make sure planned steps are logically tied with relationships and have the required craft and man-hours to perform the work.

    + Work with area planners to ensure proper coding is assigned to the WO for scheduling.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum (Required) Qualifications

     

    Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)

     

    Must be proficient in the Computer Based Program System for planning OR scheduling (SAP preferred).

     

    Must have at least 2 years of experience in a refinery or heavy industry with planning or scheduling experience.

     

    Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

     

    Must have strong organizational, planning, critical thinking, and communication skills. With the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic refining environment.

     

    Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug tests and physical.

    Preferred Qualifications

    SAP experience is highly preferred.

     

    Experience with Prometheus Scheduler is preferred.

     

    PDF creation and mark-up knowledge is preferred.

     

    Advanced Excel/Access experience is preferred.

     

    This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. It is currently posted at Grade 9-10 level. The actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
