The Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) Proteomics Core within the Fischer Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute serves as a resource for the Cancer Biology Department, aiding investigators in answering key research questions using mass spectrometry-based proteomics. We employ quantitative chemoproteomic and interactomic approaches to identify drug targets and are continuing to expand our repertoire to meet the needs of our core users. Our core is equipped with extensive mass spectrometry equipment including timsTOF HT, timsTOF Ultra2 and Orbitrap Eclipse tribrid mass spectrometers.

The TPD Proteomics Core seeks a highly motivated individual to join the team as a at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an experienced RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, who will employ mass spectrometry-based technologies to assess the cellular proteome in response to external stimuli. This individual will be an important member of our core team and will work with technicians, scientists, postdocs and students on a variety of different research projects focused on targeted protein degradation as a novel therapeutic modality.

+ Mammalian cell line management and ability to perform drug treatments and prepare samples from tissues and cells

+ Prepares lab reagents and media

+ Performs mass spectrometry sample preparation

+ Operation and maintenance of standard lab equipment including HPLC’s, mass spectrometers

+ Analyzes experimental data and interpret results to write reports, presentations, grant and publication preparation

+ Maintains detailed notebook of all work-related activities

+ Maintains and orders laboratory supplies

+ Communicates with purchasing and may be responsible for negotiating with vendors

+ Collaborates with other lab members for the development, modification and improvement of standard operating procedures

Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology or chemistry preferred

+ A knowledge of information and techniques related to biology, chemistry or medicine is preferred

+ Understanding of statistical and computational methods is desirable

+ Must have close attention to detail and consistent work habits

+ Must have good time management

+ Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment

+ Excellent oral and written capabilities

+ Experience with R, MATLAB, or python and general computational abilities is preferred
