Job Summary and Qualifications
+ Manage provider schedule in EMR, i.e., time off, appropriate dx scheduling, schedules full, no shows called, etc.
+ Scheduling of testing, i.e., imaging, labs, referrals to other providers
+ Daily utilization of e-mail for communication
+ Attention to detail, example, managing EMR beans, patient scheduling, pathology tracking, provider requests, etc.
+ Types accurately with attention to details
+ Prepares correspondence, reports, and materials for presentations
+ Sets up and coordinates meetings
+ Creates, transcribes and distributes meeting agendas and minutes
+ Answers telephones and handles calls in an appropriate manner
+ Meets and greets patients and visitors
+ Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to: copying, faxing, mailing and filing
+ Maintains front office area to be neat, orderly and patient-friendly.
+ Researches, prices and purchases; ordering supplies
+ Demonstrates ability to maintain a safe environment
+ Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.
+ Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
+ Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
+ Obtains medical records for new or current patients not limited to labs, imaging, OR/inpatient consult notes, other provider notes prior to patient appointments to maximize their visit, prevent delays/cancellations and create efficiency for the provider, understanding when to bring to nursing for triage of importance
+ Sent OR/inpatient consult notes to Lahey for their billing purposes
+ Verify eligibility and benefits for in office or surgical procedures prior to procedure, uses appropriate diagnosis codes and obtains prior authorizations if required for reimbursement for both Parkland and Lahey
+ Completes surgical scheduling including provider schedule, scheduling express, organizing labs/imaging/physical therapy/cardiology etc and pre-op appointments prior to surgery date to avoid delays
What qualifications you will need:
+ Medical Office experience preferred
+ High School Graduate / GED
