Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the general supervision of the Director, manages the business operations of St. David’s Occupational Health Services. This includes oversight of the three primary service lines including workers compensation / work injury treatment, employee health and wellness services, and a corporate service line consisting of employment related testing. Responsible for staff performing duties in multiple physical locations. Works with clinical teams and business teams, management, and other support personnel to coordinate both on and off-site physical exams, corporate services, and injury care. Supports physicians, advanced practice providers, and paraprofessional personnel in business and administrative functions, including development and management of appointment systems, maintenance of medical records, logistics requirements, employer and patient relations. Coordinates provider scheduling and appointment utilization. While this position has direct responsibility for services and programs within Occupational Health Services, integration of services throughout the system is an expectation. Collaborate with other management staff, supervisors, clinical staff, and administrative personnel toward professional development. Assists the Director in day-to-day operations as well as providing the full continuum of OHS services in a cost effective, efficient manner.
+ You will manage the day-to-day business operations of Occupational Health Services
+ You will demonstrate knowledge in occupational health and safety regulations, requirements, and reporting.
+ You will coordinate development of business protocols which reflect efficient and appropriate standards of care for this patient population and corporate clientele.
+ You will coordinate development and implementation of policies and procedures which relate to the above services and completes appropriate revisions at least yearly.
+ You will assist with the development of the annual business plan and strategic goals for the program.
+ You will act as a business resource person for staff and acts to educate staff when needs are identified.
+ You will assist in ongoing development and maintenance of the Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA / QI) program or other audits as directed.
+ You will advise the Director of Occupational Health Services of identified needs, concerns, or opportunities for development when identified with suggestions for methods of implementation when indicated.
+ You will assist in analyzing feasibility and impact of new programs. Compile and present statistical data.
+ You will model enthusiasm and professionalism toward responsibilities and ensures that operations and staff are accessible, friendly, and responsive to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and corporate clients.
+ You will coordinate resources with other staff to ensure Occupational Health Service Product Lines are available and delivered as advertised.
+ You will demonstrate understanding and achieves mastery of clinical software / database management.
+ You will serve as a resource to clinic customers for account creation and problem solving with overlap and support of sales and marketing of OHS services
+ You will demonstrate knowledge and application of Patient Care Standards, Standards of practice, regulatory agency standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
+ You will act as a resource to hospital, medical staff and community for employee health and safety issues.
+ You will collaborate with market and division employee health teams including those in other facility and market-based roles.
+ You will enforce Employee Health policies and procedures and support the Employee Health hospital facility programs below:
+ Respiratory Protection Program
+ Seasonal Influenza Drive
+ Vaccine Preventable Disease Program
+ TB / contagious illness exposure follow-up and/or annual testing per protocol
+ Injury Coordinator and Case Management for employees
+ You will manage the clinical staff in the Occupational Health Clinic
+ You will demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills and facilitate team integration.
+ You will assist in the fiscal management of the OHS Program.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Physical Therapy, or Exercise Physiology required
+ RN license to practice in the state of TX required
+ BCLS required
+ CAOHC (Hearing Conservation) certification; NIOSH Pulmonary Function certification (if applicable) Required within 1 year
+ Certification in Occupational Health (COHN) is preferred as employee becomes eligible to test for it after 2 years active experience. (if applicable) Required within 3 years
+ Preferred: Advanced degree in area of clinical expertise, healthcare administration, HR, or Risk Management.
+ Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
+ 1-3 years managing clinic operations within occupational health
+ 3-7 years of experience in area of clinical expertise
+ Understanding of healthcare environment and strong leadership skills.
+ Thorough knowledge of Employee Health, Public Health, or Case Management.
+ Clinical experience with adults.
+ Experience in business offices or medical practice offices.
+ Preferred: Strong knowledge of Texas Worker’s Compensation rules, regulations, insurance, and billing procedures. Risk management, workers compensation, healthcare administration. Understanding human behavior, organizational behavior, and organizational development knowledge.
