Job Title: Senior Estimator

Department: Estimating Department

Reports to: Director, Estimating

Our project capabilities and experience include commercial, single-family residential, multi-family residential, and public works infrastructure projects all over the DFW Metroplex. While Moss Utilities was founded in 2016, the Moss family has a legacy in the utility construction industry in Dallas-Fort Worth dating back to the early 1900's. A Senior Estimator should have heavy civil construction skills and an experience in estimating commercial & private development projects. Ideally, will have experience with wet utilities construction that includes water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, concrete structures, duct bank, etc.

Responsibilities

+ Estimating self-performed projects which typically range up to 20 million dollars; including pricing labor, equipment, and material costs.

+ Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases.

+ Ability to produce detailed, accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.

+ Ability to assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate.

+ Identify constructability issues through the estimating process.

+ Identify and propose value-engineering alternatives.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

+ Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar)

+ 5+ years heavy civil estimating

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

+ HCSS/Planswift/Bluebeam Experience Preferred

+ Strong organization and planning skills

+ Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
