    General Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of nine years of progressive professional experience required in areas such as career and technical education, workforce training, K-12 or higher education partnerships, or program development. Experience with Texas Education Agency ( TEA ) programs of study, dual credit, and workforce-aligned education is strongly preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities may be accepted.

    Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

    Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations for the Polytechnic College Career and Technical Education ( CTE ) initiatives.

    Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

    Provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the development and growth of the Polytechnic College’s Career and Technical Education ( CTE ) initiatives. Ensures SamPoly programs remain aligned with TEA programs of study. Develops and supports pathways from high school to college through innovative admissions strategies. Coordinates outreach to expand partnerships and workforce pipelines to address regional workforce demands through high-quality technical education. Partners with K–12 leaders, workforce organizations, and industry partners to strengthen collaboration and student opportunities. Balances policy alignment with practical execution to ensure compliance and program relevance. Creates seamless on-ramps for students transitioning into higher education and the workforce. Works autonomously to initiate new partnerships, build systems, and adapt quickly as the college grows. Shapes long-term student pathways and workforce readiness efforts with significant potential for growth in scope, visibility, and impact as the college expands. Establishes and expand a network of CTE offerings by leading outreach efforts, supporting MOU development with K-12 partners (limited to SamPoly courses and TEA -approved programs), and convening a CTE Coordinator Advisory Board. Maintains SamPoly program alignment with TEA programs of study, ensuring compliance with state requirements and alignment to high-demand industries. Leads the College Readiness Implementation initiative, coordinating with schools and community partners to support student readiness and persistence. Develops innovative and minimal-friction on-ramps for high school students, including auto-admit programs, dual credit pathways, and articulation agreements. Builds and sustain strong partnerships with ISDs, community colleges, workforce boards, and industry to expand credential pathways. Monitors and analyzes program effectiveness, student participation, and outcomes to guide continuous improvement. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (admissions, advising, academic departments) to ensure seamless integration of CTE initiatives into the broader college mission. Perform other related duties as assigned.
