    Job Description

    The Model Based Engineering Department (E92) is seeking an Engineering Manager 2 to lead the development of digital engineering capabilities that will support the delivery of digital design products to the government. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development of a cloud-based environment that securely houses and manages carrier model files, ensuring seamless integration and utilization throughout the vessel’s lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead a team in creating requirements for a cloud-based environment that meets the needs of the U.S. Navy

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and facilitate program conversations

    + Serve as the primary interface between NNS and the U.S. Navy, ensuring effective communication and meeting customer needs

    + Develop and implement digital design disclosure strategies to ensure secure data delivery

    + Oversee the development and maintenance of cloud-based digital engineering capabilities using Siemens PLM and design tools

    + Lead a group of engineers in the development and implementation of digital engineering solutions

    Ideal Candidate

    + Proven experience in cloud-based engineering environments, with a focus on Siemens PLM and design tools

    + Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

    + Experience in defining business requirements and facilitating program conversations

    + Ability to meet customer needs and ensure secure data delivery

    + Strong technical knowledge of digital engineering capabilities and cloud-based environments

     

    The Role

     

    The Model Based Engineering Department is seeking an engineering manager to lead the development of digital engineering capabilities that will support the delivery of digital design products and development of future processes. This candidate will lead a team that is creating requirements for a cloud based environment that will house carrier model files and support the use of the deliverables throughout the lifecycle of the vessel. The ideal candidate will have cloud experience with Siemens PLM and design tools. This role will serve as an interface between NNS and the U.S. Navy to help define business requirements. The person should work to be collaborative and customer focused.

     

    Must Have

     

    Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.

     

    Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

    The ideal candidate will be familiar with cloud concepts, Siemens PLM software and Engineering and design processes
