Responsibilities
FULL-TIME- 1st Shift
5:30am - 3:15/3:30pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you mechanically inclined and passionate about producing high-quality food products? Join our team as an **Oven Operator** in the Pre-Cooked Department, where you’ll be responsible for safely operating molded and belt ovens to produce egg patties and omelets that meet our high standards for taste, texture, and quality.
This role requires a strong understanding of oven systems, cooking processes, and product specifications. You’ll be a key player in ensuring consistent production, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety policies and procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
+ Start and maintain oven production runs, achieving desired output levels.
+ Operate and monitor multiple ovens (molded and belt) and associated systems including pre-heats, conveyors, and spiral freezers.
+ Adjust oven and pre-heat temperatures, flow rates, and fill parameters as needed.
+ Troubleshoot oven issues and assist maintenance with identifying and resolving problems.
+ Replace O-rings, gaskets, injector tips, and pumps as needed.
+ Recognize different products and specifications (size, weight, color, shape) and make adjustments to maintain quality.
+ Understand and manage steam and air control systems within ovens.
+ Assist Lead Operator with maintaining production levels and training others.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and uphold sanitation standards.
+ Communicate any issues or changes in product or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.
+ Participate in process improvement initiatives and team councils.
+ Accurately document production data and complete HACCP records.
+ Monitor product transfers, belt speeds, and spiral freezer operations.
+ Support and guide line workers assigned to molded ovens.
+ Enter data into Redzone and participate in daily huddles.
+ Follow GMP, HACCP, and SQF guidelines to maintain product integrity and certification.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support production and quality goals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and basic correspondence.
+ Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, percentages, and graph interpretation.
+ Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram instructions and solve practical problems.
+ Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
+ Strong mechanical skills and familiarity with tools (Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).
+ Detailed knowledge of all five ovens (molded and belt) in the department.
+ Basic computer skills for operating Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs).
+ Effective communication and teamwork skills.
+ Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
+ Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and work in warm, humid environments.
+ Ability to climb stairs and wear required PPE (bump cap, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes).
+ Demonstrated understanding of GMPs and safety procedures.
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform essential duties.
