• Electrical Engineering Manager, Research

    Summary:

    Meta is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our team in incubating research into product-level readiness. You'll assess the intake of requirements, manage program schedules, identify risks, and communicate with stakeholders. As a liaison between researchers, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, you'll determine project priorities and feasibility. Your expertise will guide EE design and architecture for custom systems. This complex role offers the opportunity to develop technologies that transform human communication and interaction.

    Required Skills:

    Electrical Engineering Manager, Research Responsibilities:

    1. Manage a team of Electrical Engineers responsible for Consumer Electronics technology development

    2. Develop and execute research & NTI roadmap and strategy in close coordination with product, research, and Cross Functional teams

    3. Develop plans, methods, and protocols to deliver roadmap strategy

    4. Perform architecture and design reviews to ensure hardware quality

    5. Effectively influence leaders and key partners to gain alignment through projects

    6. Champion engineering rigor throughout phase gate development

    7. Create specs and measurable metrics of success to deliver functional requirements

    8. Work with cross-functional managers and architects on hardware and software integration

    9. Provide team guidance, regular feedback, education, coaching and mentoring

    10. Identify key roles required for team success and recruit top engineering talent

    11. Create career development plans, manage performance, create performance reviews

    Minimum Qualifications:

    12. BS or higher education in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent

    13. 8+ years of experience with system-level design including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, debug, and embedded firmware coordination

    14. 3+ years experience managing a team of Electrical Engineers

    15. Experience leading development from schematic and PCB layout to assembly

    16. Experience with System on Chip, RF (WiFi/BT), Batteries, Audio, Sensors Integration, Display, Custom Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)/Silicon, Haptics, Camera Sensors, and high speed Input/Output

    17. Experience with digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc

    18. Experience in working with external manufacturing and design partners (CM, ODM)

    19. Familiarity with ECAD tools like OrCAD, Allegro, Mentor Graphics, and/or Altium

    20. Direct experience in tech transfer or shipping high volume consumer hardware

    21. Capacity to travel both domestically and internationally

    Public Compensation:

    $170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
