Manufacturing Company in North Haven, CT is in immediate need for a Assistant Maintenance Technician. In this role you will support senior technicians by performing routine building upkeep, basic repairs, and custodial duties to maintain facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include cleaning, minor repairs and plumbing systems, and assisting with more complex tasks like HVAC or carpentry work, with the goal of learning skills for promotion to a higher-level technician role. Company will certify you for Forklift responsibilities.

Key responsibilities are:

+ **Assisting with repairs** : Help senior technicians with tasks like plumbing and carpentry.

+ **Routine maintenance** : Perform regular duties such as fixing minor issues, replacing light bulbs, and keeping equipment in good working order.

+ **Inspections and reporting** : Assist with identifying and reporting maintenance issues that need attention.

+ **Custodial and cleaning** : Perform general cleaning of floors, windows, and other surfaces, as well as waste removal.

+ **Groundskeeping** : Maintain the appearance and functionality of the property grounds.

+ **Installation** : Assist with the installation of new equipment

+ **Documentation** : May be responsible for tasks like inventory tracking, data entry, and maintaining records.

Essential skills and qualifications

+ **Basic repair skills** : A fundamental understanding of basic repairs and maintenance is required.

+ **Problem-solving** : Ability to troubleshoot minor issues and identify when to escalate a problem to a senior technician.

+ **Teamwork** : Capable of working effectively with other maintenance staff.

+ **Attention to detail** : Crucial for performing tasks correctly and identifying potential problems.

+ **Physical ability** : Must be able to perform tasks that require physical strength and dexterity.

+ **Experience** : While often learned on the job, prior experience is helpful

Pay Range: $50K-54K a year
