    Job Summary

    Shambaugh & Son is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Mechanical Process Group. This position will design mechanical systems for the Food Process industry.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    + Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings or computer-generated reports.

    + Assisting drafters in developing the structural design of products.

    + Using drafting tools or computer-assisted design software.

    + Conferring with other professionals to implement operating procedures.

    + Resolving product malfunctions or providing technical recommendations.

    + Recommending design modifications to eliminate product malfunctions.

    + Conducting research that tests or analyzes the performance of equipment.

    + Investigating product difficulties to diagnose faulty operation.

    + Testing models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    + 10+ years of experience.

    + Licensed Professional Engineer is a plus.

    + Self-motivated and committed to learn.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    + Autodesk AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.

    + Specific interest in a career in designing Utility-HVAC-Plumbing systems using the Design-Build approach.

    + Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
