LEAD METAL SPINNING TECHNICIAN (FORMED STRUCTURES) – 2ND SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Coordinate shop floor activity, including daily schedules and workflow
+ Contain non-conformance issues, including documentation of associated rework
+ Support and train a team of technicians and maintain area metrics
+ Review work instructions, and make changes and recommendations when needed
+ Develop and implement efficiency improvement projects
+ Maintain tooling and consumable supply inventory
+ Complete tooling modification and repairs
+ Coordinate preventative maintenance activities
+ Monitor precision blending and process adherence
+ Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner
+ Assist with transitioning product from engineering development and initial production to full rate production
+ Assist with the development of production processes for first-time production run
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High school diploma or equivalency certificate
+ 2+ years of aerospace, aviation, automotive, manufacturing, or other structural assembly experience OR 1+ years of technical SpaceX experience
+ 2+ years of experience with metal spin forming, metal blending, etching, flow forming, machining, or other processes such as drilling/grinding/deburring
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Knowledge of pressure, measurement devices, and mechanical systems
+ Strong mathematical, computer, problem solving, and decision-making skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
+ Experience with high-volume manufacturing
+ Knowledge of metal flow forming, spin forming, heat treating, and CNC processes
+ Knowledge of large machining operations, material movement, and/or precision assembly operation
+ Ability to drive and move a forklift
+ Demonstrated record of high-performance at SpaceX
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in confined spaces
+ Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. unassisted
+ Must be available to work 1st shift hours, weekends, and overtime as needed
+ Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
+ Must be able to wear a respirator/PAPR
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Lead Metal Spinning Technician/Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Lead Metal Spinning Technician/Level 4: $36.00 - $43.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Lead Metal Spinning Technician/Level 5: $41.00 - $51.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
