    About the Role & Program

    This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Anaheim, CA, from **January 2026 to June 2026.**

     

    What You Will Do

     

    The CAD Design department is accountable for the creation and modification of all computer drafting, graphics, 3D models, and views generated (ground plans, detail drawings, schematic documentation, etc.) that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings, including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and on-board the Disney Cruise Line. We are seeking an individual with an innovative mindset and a passion for Disney-quality creativity. We are seeking someone who will be motivated to ensure that Disney standards are consistently reflected in all design & technical materials.

    The CAD design intern will focus on two categories of work:

    CAD Standards Development

    + Building the assets and drawings for the standards

    + Create CAD blocks and building template files, a CAD library of CAD drawings and materials

    + Assisting in creating custom tool palettes of the standard CAD blocks

    + Creating template files that have CAD standards settings, such as layers, fonts, leader styles, etc., already built into them

    Project Work

    + Assist in creating 3D scans of areas in Disneyland Resort that are requested for projects, learning how to use a 3D scanner

    + Find drawings that are requested for projects using our online documentation database

    + Project drawing initial setup

    + Assist in creating location plan drawings for projects by adding standard CAD blocks for various types of devices (speakers, projectors, data boxes, etc.)

    + Assisting in creating the base template drawings with all settings built in for projects (layers, title block, fonts, etc.)

    + Demonstrating knowledge of basic design, including 2D digital drawings as well as 3D modeling

    + Contributing within the field of information gathering via laser scanning, digital photographs, and physical measurements

    + Contributing to the advancement of Previsualization as part of the design workflow

    + Facilitating a design from an art concept through a bid package as part of a collaborative design process

    + Participating in appropriate Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings

    + Coordinating conference room logistics for project/creative reviews and shows

    Required Qualifications & Skills

    + Basic Experience & knowledge in creating and designing custom AutoCAD blocks & drawings (layers, fonts, leader styles, and annotative scaling)

    + Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    + Familiarity with BIM Concepts and processes

    + Experience with Cloud Shared models with Autodesk Revit

    + Familiarity in 3D modeling (Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Rhino)

    + Experience in reading and generating ground plans, sections, and elevations

    + Knowledge of the Entertainment industry, and having a creative background

    + Gaining trust through motivation and communication, and managing conflicting priorities

    + Experience with Unreal Engine and developing VR Experiences

    Education

    + Junior year or beyond

    + Major or previous coursework in Theatrical Design (Facility or Show), Themed Entertainment, or related major preferred

     

    Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

    Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

    + Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

    + Be at least 18 years of age

    + Possess unrestricted work authorization

    + Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program

    Additional Details

    + Fully available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) and have a consistent, reliable work schedule for the duration of the internship

    + Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

    + Possess a valid US driver’s license and be able to operate a company vehicle

    + Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in California

    The pay rate for this role in Anaheim, CA is $20.42 per hour.
