MECHANIC APPRENTICE – IKO Southwest Plant (Hillsboro, TX)IKO is a global leader in the roofing, waterproofing, and insulation industry. We’re looking for a motivated Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at the IKO Southwest asphalt shingle plant in Hillsboro, Texas. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGAs a Mechanic Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced maintenance professionals to:

Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipmentLearn to troubleshoot issues with motors, conveyors, pumps, and other plant machinerySupport installation and modification of mechanical componentsHelp organize tools, parts, and work areasFollow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout protocolsUse computer-based maintenance systems to track work orders and equipment historyParticipate in test runs and assist with equipment adjustments

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or coursework preferredStrong interest in mechanical systems and hands-on workWillingness to learn and take direction from experienced team membersBasic understanding of tools and mechanical principlesAbility to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environmentGood communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility to work various shifts as needed
