    Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST), Position Description Number D2161000 and is part of the 105TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing (ANG), Mission Support Group, SecurityForces (SF) Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the subject matter expertin managing the SF Squadron program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments,formal training programs, and readiness and emergency management. Provides guidance andrecommendations to the squadron commander on all aspects of SF programs for military personnelmanagement, budget and management analysis, training, and training resources for drill-statuspersonnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Must have experience with methods, procedures, regulations, and other guides that relate to training programs within the United States AF, ANG, and SF career field. Must have experience and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Must have knowledge and understanding of AF, National Guard, and gaining command organizational structure, missions, and responsibilities. Must have experience and ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting. Must have experience with defining problem areas and in application of conventional training program management principles and concepts. Education If you are using Education to qualify for this position, master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. You must provide Official Transcripts as documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). This position is indefinite without the potential to convert to permanent. Employees hired under indefinite appointments may not exceed 5 years (consecutive) time with the agency. The applicant selected may be released at any time subject to a 30-day notice and advised of his/her rights and benefits to which entitled. If a permanent employee accepts this indefinite position, their tenure will change from permanent to indefinite. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1. Must pass initial formal law enforcement training school as determined by functional (NGB/A7S). 2. Must undergo initial and periodic job compatibility assessments. Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in self-aid buddy care and first-aid. 3. Upon selection, this position will require the completion of AF Instructor Methodology Course and other approved principle of instruction course approved by functional manager. 4. Incumbent must be qualified in the use of required weapons. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 5. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. 6. The position is designated for drug testing. 7. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle and an appropriate, valid driver's license will be required. 8. The incumbent may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. 9. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 10. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. 11. May be required to wear special protective clothing such as coats, boots, vests, gas masks, and/or helmets and may be exposed to high levels of noise such as aircraft engines. 12. This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.
