As CTO, you will lead Vitera’s end-to-end technology strategy, operations, and infrastructure. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll drive innovation across engineering, infrastructure, and AI while shaping the future of our platform in the rapidly evolving retirement space.

This role blends strategic leadership with technical depth and is ideal for a proven operator who thrives in high-growth environments.

Accountabilities:

As CTO, you will define and execute the technology vision that powers Vitera’s next chapter. You’ll lead a world-class organization across engineering, infrastructure, and AI—ensuring our platform delivers secure, scalable, and innovative retirement solutions.

You will:

+ Architect the Future of Retirement Tech: Design and evolve a modern, cloud-native platform that integrates guaranteed income directly into workplace savings plans—balancing performance, reliability, and compliance.

+ Lead with Innovation and Intelligence: Champion the integration of AI/ML across both client-facing products and internal systems to drive smarter experiences, operational efficiency, and long-term differentiation.

+ Scale with Purpose: Build infrastructure that supports rapid growth, complex regulatory requirements, and multi-carrier collaboration—positioning Vitera to serve millions with confidence.

+ Leverage Strategic Partnerships: Work closely with Athene and Apollo to harness their institutional scale, data, and market expertise—accelerating innovation and unlocking shared value across the ecosystem.

+ Build and Empower Exceptional Teams: Lead and expand a distributed, hybrid technology organization. Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, inclusion, and continuous learning.

+ Drive Strategic Alignment Across the Business: Partner with the CEO, executive team, clients, and industry stakeholders to ensure technology decisions accelerate our mission and deliver meaningful retirement outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

+ 8+ years of technology experience in FinTech, retirement solutions or financial services

+ Deep, hands-on experience integrating AI/ML into business workflows and customer-facing products

+ Proven track record leading cloud transformation and architecting scalable, secure infrastructure

+ Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and data privacy standards in finance

+ Experience managing distributed teams and partner ecosystems

+ Strategic mindset with a history of delivering high-ROI, mission-aligned technology solutions

+ Excellent communicator, team builder, and innovation advocate

$232,800.00 - $349,200.00 USD Annual

Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
