A Brief Overview
The Vice President of Partner Operations for the Avera McKennan region is a senior leader responsible for advancing strategic relationships, operational excellence, and regional growth across Avera's affiliated and independent health system partners. This role directly oversees partnerships within the Avera McKennan region and provides indirect leadership and strategic guidance for partner relationships across the broader Avera Health system.
What you will do
+ Relationship Management: Serve as the primary executive liaison for partner hospitals within the Avera McKennan region.
+ Operational Oversight: Monitor and support operational performance, quality metrics, and compliance standards across partner hospitals.
+ Operational Oversight: Facilitate collaboration across clinical, operational, and administrative teams to ensure mutual success.
+ Growth: Identify opportunities for expansion, joint ventures, and service line development in collaboration with partner hospitals.
+ Development: Cultivate, develop, and maintain strong relationships with independent hospitals across Avera’s markets.
+ Board Relationships: Serve as a key liaison to partner hospital boards, fostering transparency, trust, and strategic alignment.
+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
+ Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or health system management.
+ Proven success in partnership development, operational leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Deep understanding of rural and independent hospital dynamics, healthcare regulations, and integrated delivery systems.
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
+ Master's in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field. (MBA, MHA, MPH).
