Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Works with clinical, revenue cycle and financial reporting stakeholders, and various department and interdepartmental peers to clarify and translate analytic needs of reporting consumers, including content and specification design, scope, prioritization, identification of appropriate reporting solutions, assignment and management of report and dashboard build assignments across BIDs, CBAs and ARLs. Manages team of staff responsible for providing business intelligence services. Responsible for hiring, performance evaluation and other personnel actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Elicits, interprets, and refines the clinical, financial and business requirements related to creating and maintaining reporting applications.
+ Assesses and estimates requests to determine scope and effort required to complete.
+ Oversees and assists with development of complex logic for reports and data analysis using advanced functionality within Microsoft SQL tools, Crystal Reports, Epic Systems reporting tools, Tableau/Power BI, or other reporting applications ensuring adherence to development protocols.
+ Reviews the design and delivery mechanism of an asset and enhances end-users’ understanding of the information.
+ Prepares and presents concise summaries to explain findings, variations, and limitations with recommendations for solutions based upon data-driven insight.
+ Understands Electronic Medical Records (EMR) workflows to translate between the transactional system and the data repository.
+ Obtains and maintains Epic Data Model and/or reporting tools certifications or training as needed, and/or maintains current knowledge via self-study for reporting tools and reporting programming techniques.
+ Leads regularly scheduled team and 1:1 meeting with staff to review assignments and discuss career and professional development.
+ Completes Annual Reviews of staff.
+ Represents team at Senior Leadership meetings with project status updates, as needed.
+ Performs proper testing and validation techniques to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported or extracted data and documents the test and validation processes used.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
+ Experience with SQL, SSRS, Tableau, and/or Healthcare information preferred
+ Experience with Epic reporting and analytics project management preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Critical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, proven customer service orientation and excellent communication skills required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ EPIC - EPIC Certification within 1 year required
