You will work closely with managing directors, project managers, and business line leads to ensure project excellence, staff development, and alignment with company goals and values. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Leadership & Team Development

+ Provide leadership to the Power & Fuels Advisory team; direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

+ Recruit, develop, train, and retain high-performing staff capable of delivering exceptional consulting and technical work.

+ Promote the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission, while modeling 1898 & Co.’s traits: tenacious problem solvers, curious seekers, unselfish collaborators, and grit.

+ Interpret and communicate organizational goals, policies, and business priorities to staff.

    Project & Resource Management

+ Provide expert-level technical and commercial guidance for consulting engagements involving power generation asset assessments, independent engineering reviews, and asset advisory studies.

+ Ensure efficient staff assignment, workload management, and utilization to support profitable project delivery and meet billable targets.

+ Lead and oversee project QA/QC efforts, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and company standards.

+ Collaborate with project managers to manage project scope, schedule, and budget performance, maintaining high-quality outcomes across multiple engagements.

+ Support the development and implementation of best practices in project delivery, quality management, and technical execution.

+ Ensure compliance with company and safety policies across all projects.

    Strategic & Operational Execution

+ Collaborate with managing directors, business line leads, and proposal teams to support business development and secure new client engagements.

+ Oversee the delivery of consulting services that include site assessments, asset condition assessments, feasibility studies, benchmarking, and lifecycle cost analyses.

+ Guide the team in developing asset management plans, maintenance strategies, and decommissioning studies that drive long-term client value.

+ Support the preparation of financial models, technical reports, and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for clients.

+ Implement and support firmwide programs and initiatives, ensuring effective communication and adoption within the team.

+ Monitor key performance metrics, drive continuous improvement, and ensure achievement of stated financial and operational targets.

+ Promote collaboration with adjacent business lines to advance cross-functional opportunities.

    Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or other related field and 5 years of related experience.

+ Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.

+ Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

+ Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.

+ Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
